DENVER - Two suspects are on the loose after an early morning marijuana-related home invasion and kidnapping on Saturday.
At 12:30 a.m. Jefferson County Sheriff’s dispatch received a call of a home invasion and kidnapping at the 16900 block of W. 73rd Place. There were three adults inside the home at the time -- a married couple and their adult male roommate. The kidnapping is suspected to be connected to a marijuana-based business, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Techmeyer.
The caller said two men forced their way inside the home, forced a woman and the roommate into the couple’s car and then left. One of the suspects got into the car with the victims, while the other suspect left, Techmeyer said.
Shortly after the 911 call, the victim’s vehicle was spotted by a Mountain View police officer on Interstate 70 near Sheridan Blvd. A chase began into downtown Denver ending with the car crashing near 23rd and Stout streets. The suspect in the vehicle ran away.
The two male victims suffered minor injuries and the woman was uninjured.
Anyone who has information regarding these crimes is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
