LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Lakewood police on Tuesday release the name of a 79-year-old man who was found killed in his mobile home last weekend.
Officers conducting a welfare check at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday found the body of Robert L. Phibben inside his mobile home at 1550 Depew St., said Lakewood Police spokesman Steve Davis.
As the investigation progressed, detectives felt strongly Phippen died as the result of a homicide, Davis said.
Further investigation led detectives to believe two men were involved in Phippen's death, Davis said. Detectives identified and arrested 22-year-old James A. Dominguez-Castor and 20-year-old Stephvon Gilbert Atencio. Both are believed to be acquaintances of the victim.
Dominguez-Castor and Atencio were arrested on charges of first-degree murder and felony murder. They were transported to the Jefferson County Jail where they are being held without bond on Tuesday.
