2 injured in suspected street racing crash in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two people were injured when two cars crashed during what could be street racing, Colorado Springs said Sunday.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. near Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway, KRDO.com reported.

Police said the driver of a red sedan hit a Jeep, sending both cars into the backyard of a home.

Both cars rolled before coming to a stop. The Jeep ended up on its roof.  The roof of the convertible had to be cut away to free the driver.

The two drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, KRDO reported.

Police are looking for Mustang that the driver of the sedan may have been racing.
