2 injured when small plane crashes during training flight at Fort Carson

FORT CARSON, Colo. - Two crew members were injured when a small plane crashed during a training flight at a Fort Carson airfield on Wednesday afternoon, Army officials said.

The DA20 aircraft, contracted for U.S. Air Force flight training, crashed at Butts Army Airfield at about 2:30 p.m., Fort Carson officials said in a news release.

The two crew members onboard were transported to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Their conditions were not released.

The crew members were on a routine training mission out of Pueblo, Colo., when the accident occurred, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
