AURORA, Colo. - Two  schools in Aurora were locked down due to police activity in the area, according to Aurora Public Schools spokesperson Paula Hans.

Jewell Elementary and Gateway High Schools were put on lockdown at about 8:15 this morning, Hans said.

When 7News called Aurora police to ask about potential public safety concerns, Aurora police spokesperson Lt. Frank Fania refused to give us any information regarding this incident and told 7News to never call again.  We are waiting for a response from the Aurora City Manager.

The lockdowns were lifted by 4:40 p.m.
