WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Two Adams County Sheriff deputies were injured Sunday after attempting to stop a car for a traffic violation.
Adams County Sheriff Sgt. Paul Gregory said a female driver was stopped in Adams County at 11:40 a.m. for a traffic offense. Two females got out of the car but one of them jumped back into the car and sped off, striking two deputies, Gregory said.
A pursuit ensued, going into Denver and Westminster before the suspect's vehicle struck another vehicle while running a stop light at 73rd Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.
Gregory said the female driver was taken into custody at the crash scene. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was rushed to a nearby hospital along with the two deputies that were struck earlier.
The investigation was continuing Sunday afternoon, Gregory said.
