ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. - Two Adams County deputies have serious injuries after their squad car crashed on the ramp from eastbound Interstate 76 to southbound Interstate 25 early Sunday morning.
The deputies were responding to a report of a dangerous driver at about 1 a.m., according to the Adams County Sheriff's Department.
The deputy driving llost control of the patrol vehicle on the ramp and it traveled off the south side of the highway, struck a guardrail and a light pole, and then rolled down an embankment.
Both deputies were rushed by ambulance to Denver General Hospital with serious injuries, investigators confirmed.
"Please keep our two deputies in your thoughts today. They were involved in a crash early this morning. We will keep you all up to speed as we can. In the mean time, please wish them and their families well,," the sheriff's office posted on their Facebook page Sunday.
The names of the deputies have not been released.
The ramp reopened at about 6 a.m., CDOT tweeted.
