DENVER - The storm that moved in overnight knocked out power to thousands of people, but Xcel Energy had most of the outages fixed by Friday morning.
At one point overnight, 17,425 customers in the Denver metro area were without power, according to the Xcel outage map. By 6 a.m. Friday, Xcel was reporting that only 1,900 were without power.
The outages overnight were widespread across the Denver metro area. The largest outage affected more than 3,000 customers in Westminster and Federal Heights. The Xcel map showed some power outage pockets weren't expected to have power restored until 8:30 a.m. Friday.
If you encounter an intersection with signal lights out, treat it as a four-way stop.
