COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A 16-year-old girl has died after falling from a moving car in Colorado Springs on Thursday afternoon, the Colorado State Patrol said.
The girl fell out of the car on the northbound Interstate 25 off-ramp to North Academy Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m., State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis said.
The girl was transported by ambulance to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
There were no other vehicles involved in the incident, and the vehicle that the 16-year-old was riding in did not crash, Lewis said. The driver of the vehicle was a 43-year-old woman.
Troopers are investigating what caused the 16 year old to leave the moving vehicle.
