WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Police have found a missing 12-year-old boy with autism.
Gabriel Duwaik was last seen riding his bicycle in the area of 126th Court and Home Farm Lane around 6 p.m. Wednesday, the Westminster Police Department said.
He was found about 12 hours later in the area of 72nd Avenue and Quebec Street. That's about 11 miles from home.
Westminster Police said Duwaik was taken to a local area hospital for an evaluation.
Gabriel is non-verbal and missed his nightly medication which increased the concern for his safety.
Police and K9’s searched the boy's neighborhood, bike trails and parks.
A CodeRED alert was issued, which is an emergency notification system that calls every landline phone number in a specified area. Over 30,000 numbers were called in the area.
