Hayden Pass Fire in Fremont County grows to nearly 13,000 acres

FREMONT COUNTY, Colo. -- The Hayden Pass Fire burning near Coaldale, which is between Canon City and Salida, has once again grown. 

Officials tweeted out a new update Wednesday night, updating the fire's acreage to 12,836 acres. 

The fire is still zero percent contained. 

The Sheriff's Office issued new mandatory evacuation orders Wednesday afternoon. 

County Rd 35 and The Eagle Peak Subdivision on the West Side of County Road 1A are now under evacuation. 

Four other areas are already evacuated.

Mandatory evacuations: 
• County Road 6, South of County Rd 45
• County Road 40 
• Fox Creek Dr (Fox Creek Dr) 
• Lutheran Camp (Custer County)

Pre-evacuations: 
3 mile radius from County Rd 6

The sheriff's office is updating evacuation information on their Facebook page

According to officials, lightning ignited the fire Friday.
