Shooting victims found dead in Denver condominium identified

DENVER - 7NEWS has identified one of the two men found dead inside a Denver condominium early Saturday morning.

When officers were called to the Trails at Parkfield Lake on Memphis Street they found two men who had been shot.

The two victims were formally identified by the Denver Medical Examiner's Office on Monday.  They are Dontai R. Carter, 23 and Richard E. Sims, 31.  Autopsies showed both men men died after being shot in the head.

After the shooting, Denver Police tweeted that they were looking for a white 2001 Chevy Tahoe that was missing from the residence.

Saturday afternoon police said they had located the Tahoe near E. Mississippi Avenue and S. Kittredge Street.

"There were several suspects inside and they ran from officers," Denver Police Spokesman Sonny Jackson said.

Officers were able to catch all three. One was detained on an outstanding warrant.
