WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Wheat Ridge police have arrested the suspected driver in a hit-and-run crash that killed one victim and sent a woman and two children to the hospital on Friday night.
At about 9:30 p.m., a man driving a red sedan crashed into two other vehicles at West 32nd Avenue and Kipling Street, said Wheat Ridge Police spokesman John Romero.
The male hit-and-run driver ran from the wrecked red sedan, but police later captured the suspect, Romero said. He was identified by police as Alton Kirkland, 23.
One person from a second car was killed in the crash, Romero said. The age and gender of the person who died were not released.
A woman and two children from a third car were transported to a hospital with injuries, he added. Their conditions were not immediately available.
The intersection was closed for several hours while officers investigated.
