ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- A driver who was not wearing his seat belt was killed in a rollover crash on northbound Parker Road.

The Colorado State Patrol says the driver of a truck and trailer collided with a car at about 6:30 a.m. on Parker Road, between Iliff and Florida.

The car rolled, the 28-year-old driver was ejected and died. The Colorado State Patrol said the driver did not have his lights on, was speeding and was not wearing his seat belt.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Investigators are trying to determine if any charges should be filed.

CDOT also held a news conference Tuesday urging drivers and passengers to wear their seatbelts. Of 423 people killed on Colorado roads this year, 147 of them were not wearing seatbelts.

It started a campaign to stencil messages saying, "Be a Survivor. Buckle Up," on sidewalks around Civic Center Park. CDOT says an average of 16 percent of Colorado drivers do not use their seatbelts.
