For smartphone users with the LinkedIn Intro app, it’s time to uninstall it.
The app was shut down today as LinkedIn makes a move toward focusing on other projects. According to a blog post on the social media website, the app launched in October 2013 as a means of bringing LinkedIn to email inboxes on the iPhone.
“Members can continue to use Rapportive, which brings the power of LinkedIn to Gmail,” the blog post states. Rapportive was acquired by LinkedIn for $15 million in February 2012, according to reports.
The company also is shutting down Slidecast, an app that enables SlideShare members to upload presentations with audio. That service ends April 30.
The blog post states the changes will “allow us to commit more resources toward fewer products and continue to deliver even better experiences” for LinkedIn members.
