Lakewood High School finds out Friday if they win a Katy Perry concert from Good Morning America

Announcement expected at 6:15 a.m. Friday

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Students at Lakewood High School will find out early this morning whether they won a contest to have singer Katy Perry perform at the school.

The winner will be announced at approximately 6:15 a.m. Friday. You can watch it on 7NEWS NOW by clicking here: http://ch7ne.ws/watch7live

A special segment on the winner will air at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Good Morning America on the Denver Channel.

To enter the contest, more than 2,000 students from 80 different school clubs filmed a lip dub to Perry's hit single "Roar."  A lip dub combines lip syncing and audio dubbing. Their video has been viewed more than 564,000 times on Vimeo and 246,000 times on YouTube.

The video even sparked a response from Katy Perry herself.

"Oh my GAWD. Now this is what I call school SPIRIT: http://vimeo.com/75058173  I hear you roaring LAKEWOOD HIGH!" @katyperry tweeted last month.

If Lakewood wins, a live concert by the chart-topping artist will be held at the school (or a larger local venue) on Oct. 25 and will be broadcast on ABC's "Good Morning America."

Judges will choose the winning entry based on creativity, on-air appeal, "wow" factor, originality and feasibility of a live performance at the entrant's qualified school.
