Lt. Matt Rettmer and volunteer Tammy Denhard of Castle Rock Fire and Rescue are the firefighters who volunteer their time to change and maintain the bulbs.
The star has been on the rock formation above Castle Rock for more than 60 years, according to CastleRockCulture.com.
The 45-foot high electric star is lit from the week before Thanksgiving until the end of the National Western Stock Show.
