A homebuilder in Denver is using beetle-killed trees in its new homes.New Town Builders is using lodgepole pines in the framing of its new homes. The company said it is the first production home builder in Colorado to use lodgepole pines on such a large scale.The pine beetle infestation has damaged more than 3 million acres of Colorado forests.New Town Builders said its initiative will help clear the wood, repress fire danger, open areas for vegetative growth and provide a boost to Colorado's lumber industry.New Town Builders has been building homes in the Denver area since 2001.
