DENVER - A Colorado State Patrol trooper hit and seriously injured during a police chase last month is being honored for his bravery.

Bellamann Hee was honored Tuesday by members of the Colorado State Legislature in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Hee was throwing stop sticks March 12 in an attempt to stop a carjacked vehicle when the driver hit him.

Hee was hospitalized for nearly two weeks. He is still using a wheelchair and crutch.

Court records show the suspect, Ryan Stone, was driving at approximately 100 mph when he struck Hee during the chase.
