Funeral Services Held For Micayla Medek

Micayla Was Taking Classes At Aurora Community College, Working At Subway

Funeral services were held Thursday for another victim of the mass shooting at a movie theater.

Twenty-three-year-old Micayla C. Medek was one of 12 people killed on July 20 during a midnight showing of the latest Batman movie.

Medek's father says she was "precious soul," who was saving money for a trip to India.

Medek lived in Westminster. She attended Aurora Community College and worked at a Subway sandwich shop.

She was planning the trip to visit the homeland of some of her co-workers, reported the Los Angeles Times. Greg Medek told the newspaper Micayla loved Hello Kitty, hot pink and Beanie Babies.

She was the youngest of three children. Family members described her as loving and independent-minded.

Visitation for another victim, Alex Sullivan,was held Thursday in Denver. His funeral is private and plans have not been made public.

Sullivan was celebrating his 27th birthday when he was killed. Friends described him as a gentle man with a glowing smile.
