Witness may have seen homicide outside Walgreens pharmacy in Wheat Ridge

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - Wheat Ridge Police are asking for help trying to find a woman who may have witnessed a fatal shooting Sunday night.

Guled Abdullahi Ige, 24, of Glendale, was shot following an altercation at 8:17 p.m. Sunday outside the Walgreens at 4401 Wadsworth Boulevard, said Commander Mark Cooney. He was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital, but was pronounced dead there.

Cooney explained that the witness in the surveillance photos from the pharmacy is believed to have been with the victim at the time of the shooting.

The shooter was gone by the time police arrived. Cooney says the suspect is believed to be driving a dark-colored Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

Anyone who may have been at the Walgreens on Sunday between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., or anyone who may know the witness in the photos, are asked to call the Wheat Ridge Tip Line, 303-235-2947.
