Two suspects wanted on warrants are in custody after a standoff at a home in Wheat Ridge.

A West Metro SWAT team went to the house 6690 West 38th Avenue Wednesday at about 3:10 p.m.

The first suspect, Anthony Edward Scott, was taken into custody about 10 minutes after SWAT arrived. Scott had outstanding warrants for probation violation, dangerous drugs and possession of drugs.

The second suspect, Benjamin Jason Hoheisel, ran back inside the house, police said. Hoheisel had warrants for kidnapping, felony assault and distribution of dangerous drugs.

The SWAT team sent a robot into the home to find Hoheisel. Wheat Ridge officers eventually broke down the doors, police said.

Hoheisel was located just before midnight, hiding under trash and debris in the basement.

Police shut down 38th Ave. from Pierce to Newland Streets during the standoff.
