WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - A semi tractor-trailer hauling empty Coors beer cans crashed into a guard rail Friday night, closing eastbound Interstate 70 for about three hours, police said.

The big rig was left hanging over the suspended roadway above Kipling Street.

The semi-truck driver was heading eastbound on I-70 at 5:39 p.m. when he lost control and jumped the guard rail, said Wheat Ridge police spokeswoman Lisa Spinder.

The driver, a passenger and his two dogs were not seriously injured, she said.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
