LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. - Human remains found earlier this month near Chambers Lake along the Upper Poudre Canyon belonged to a Thornton man who went missing in 2008, the Larimer County Sheriff announced.
Robbie Wardwell was reported missing by his live-in girlfriend on Nov. 19, 2008, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation's cold case file. She made the report after Wardwell's boss at Burlington Northern Railroad told her Wardwell never arrived to work.
Later, Wardwell's truck was found near the Chambers Lake
After the jawbone was found near Chambers Lake, the county coroner's office identified the bone. That analysis confirmed the bone came from Wardwell.
"At this point in time, there is no evidence of foul play," Sheriff Justin Smith said.
Smith's department is working with Thornton Police on the case, because they received the initial missing person report in 2008.
