THORNTON, Colo. - A home invasion suspect who barricaded himself inside a house in Thornton has surrendered.
Police say they got a report of a domestic violence incident at the Econo Lodge at 12101 N. Grant St. at 6:40 a.m.
The suspect took off before officers arrived and drove to a nearby neighborhood, according to Matt Barnes with Thornton police.
The suspect broke into a house on East 139th Place and threatened a person inside with a baseball bat, according to Barnes. The resident was able to get out and was not hurt.
Negotiators talked to the man until he came out at approximately 10:50 a.m.
