JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. – Multiple teams rescued a hiker missing in Genesee Park Friday night into Saturday morning near Buffalo Overlook.

More than 40 crew members looked for the female hiker, who was reported missing around 6:45 p.m. Friday inside the park.

Authorities said at 9 p.m. they were working to narrow down the hiker's location, which was hard to pinpoint because of poor cell phone reception in the area. K-9 crews were brought in for the search.

Crews from Alpine Rescue, Foothills Fire, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies searched for the hiker between I-70 and Highway 6.

An agency spokesperson at the scene said if the woman couldn't be found Friday night, a helicopter will be sent out in addition to other crews Saturday morning.

But at 10:15 p.m., one of the searching agencies tweeted that contact had been made with the woman and crews were working to get her out safely.

The hiker was found safe was taken to a hospital with minor injuries at around 4 a.m.

Authorities have yet to release further information on the missing hiker.
