A phone call from an alert neighbor helped police arrest two burglary suspects and recover jewelry, coins, alcohol and more than 40 firearms.

Parker Police said the alert neighbor saw a suspicious person in the backyard of their neighbor's house Saturday night around 7:30 p.m. and called police.

"Parker Police Officers were able to make contact with the alleged suspect’s vehicle based on the description supplied by the witness," police said.

Officers said when they searched the car, they found several hand guns they later learned had been stolen.

"During the course of the investigation, jewelry, coins, alcohol and more than 40 firearms were discovered by investigators," police said.

Casey Allen Riedel, 20, and Jacob Lee Whitlock, 18, both of Elizabeth, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, criminal mischief and other charges.

"The vigilance of watchful neighbors, quick work of officers and efficient detective work led to the arrest of these suspects and the recovery of all stolen items within 24 hours," police said.
