LOVELAND, Colo. -- A pastor in Loveland is hoping to provide a glimpse of hope for Syrian refugees.

Interim pastor Howard Dotson from First United Presbyterian had plans to travel to Syria this month to help a family seeking asylum. His plans have been put on hold due to Thursday’s missile attacks. Dotson is still headed to Lebanon to help with a Syrian refugee outreach program there.

He plans to create a partnership between UC Medical and the American University in Beirut. The partnership will allow American volunteers and Lebanese medical professional to assist in the outreach program.

Through donations, Dotson told Denver7 he helps provide material support, psych-social rehab and art therapy for the Syrian refugee children in Lebanon.

He plans to leave to Lebanon in 10 days.
