LONGMONT, Colo. - A teenager surrendered to officers after stabbing his own brother outside a Longmont church Sunday night.
Longmont Police Department Spokesman Jeff Satur explained that the two brothers were arguing outside First Baptist Church around 7:20 p.m. when one pushed the other. A folding knife was drawn, leading to the stabbing of the 17-year-old brother in the back and arm.
The 15-year-old suspect ran off after the stabbing outside First Baptist Church around 7:20 p.m. The church is located at 15th Avenue and Terry Street.
He returned home to the 300 block of Chinook Ave. and surrendered to officers Monday at 7:17 a.m., Satur said.
The older brother was hospitalized overnight, Satur said. He is expected to be released today.
