Defense attorneys for the 35-year-old Colorado woman accused of cutting another woman's unborn baby from her womb are seeking a gag order on the Boulder District Attorney's Office, police, witnesses.

Dynel Lane is charged with attempted murder, unlawful termination of a pregnancy and multiple counts of felony assault. Prosecutors say she attacked Michelle Wilkins and removed an unborn baby from her womb on March 18.

Wilkins survived, but her baby did not.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports (http://bit.ly/1Qynpla) that Wilkins is among the witnesses defense attorneys want the gag order applied to. The attorneys say the statements hurt Lane's right to a fair trial. Prosecutors say that isn't true, and officers haven't commented since charges were formally made.

A "Dr. Phil" episode featuring Wilkins is set to air Monday

Lane remains in custody at Boulder County Jail on a $2 million bail. Her case is expected to go to trial in February. She is due back in court on Nov. 3.
