The man accused of firing a gun out his truck window as he drove by a police officer apparently gave police a fake name.
A Longmont Police sergeant said he heard gunshots in Longmont Saturday night and spotted the driver with a gun.
The sergeant stopped the driver, initially identified as Israel Flores-Alvarez. However, fingerprints showed the man's name was not Flores-Alvarez, but rather Juan Hernandez.
Police said Hernandez allegedly got out of his car during the traffic stop, made comments about wanting officers to kill him and also made several furtive movements towards his waistband as if he was trying to draw a weapon.
The officer hit Hernandez with a Taser and took him into custody.
"A search of his vehicle revealed a Smith and Wesson .22LR Semi-Automatic Handgun with live ammunition strewn about the interior of the vehicle," the arresting officer wrote in his report about the incident. "A semi-full can of beer was also located."
Alvarez was eventually booked into Boulder County Jail.
