JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Jefferson County deputies have ended a tense standoff with a man who allegedly held a woman hostage Friday morning.
The man allegedly took the woman hostage inside an apartment in the area of South Alkire Street near West Ken Caryl Avenue and C-470.
Deputies got a call from a person who witnessed the man get into a physical altercation with the woman. The man then forced the woman into his condo, where she was being held against her will, deputies said.
Negotiations between deputies and the barricaded man broke down, prompting a swat team to enter the condo around 2 p.m. Authorities placed the man into custody but did not find the woman. It's unclear if the victim managed to escape.
Deputies have not said if the still-to-be-identified man was armed.
