LITTLETON, Colo. -- Records obtained by Denver7 show that a missing Littleton woman previously had a protective order against her boyfriend, Jeffrey Scott Beier.
In a 2015 case narrative by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, investigators responding to a call of a couple fighting at a Parker bar found that Beier had a 2012 protection order out of California preventing any contact with Charlene Voight.
The document states Beier told investigators "he had taken classes" as part of a plea agreement, and the document indicates the pair was back together.
Beier was taken into custody, but a charge of violating a protective order was later dismissed.
Records also state that Beier served time in California in 2009, after pleading guilty on a domestic violence charge involving his ex-wife.
"When he was getting divorced [we] just started to notice more unstable, kind of erratic behavior and mood swings," said Michelle Kinkel, who said she and her family lived next door to Beier for about a decade. "That was when we saw a lot more cop cars in our neighborhood. We figured it was because of the rocky relationship."
Beier appeared in court Wednesday on a sex assault charge involving a different woman. Littleton police said they discovered the case while investigating Charlene Voight's disappearance.
In court Wednesday, Beier's public defenders requested a gag order to prevent Littleton police and others involved from talking about the case.
