LITTLETON, Colo. – A liquid nitrogen leak at Lockheed Martin forced the evacuation of all employees Friday afternoon.
The leak occurred in the supply line from a liquid nitrogen tank inside a building where satellites are engineered and built, according to Lockheed Martin spokesman Matt Kramer.
The building is also home to administrative offices.
Everyone was promptly evacuated and all employees were accounted for as of 3:30 p.m.
Lockheed Martin officials worked alongside the Littleton Fire Department and were able to seal the leak just before 4:15 p.m. There were no injuries.
The rest of the campus was not impacted and operations returned to normal early Friday evening.
