IDAHO SPRINGS, Colo. - Lakewood Police were sent to Clear Creek County Friday, where the County Sheriff's Office is investigating a decomposed body.
The Clear Creek County Sheriff's office reports the death investigation is being conducted on Fall River Road near mile marker 6. That's northwest of Idaho Springs.
A photo from the scene shows crime scene tape stretched around a few trees, just uphill from a home. The road is lined with official and personal vehicles.
"It is early in the investigation and further details will be provided as they become available," the Sheriff's Office said in a faxed press release.
Lakewood Police Department spokesman Steve Davis confirmed his department sent investigators to the scene, but declined to comment on precisely what connection his department may have to the case.
Lakewood Police have been involved in the case of David Noren, who vanished on May 19. Investigators said they suspected foul play in that case after finding signs of a struggle and possible injury in the man's home.
