Ex-trooper William Metzler found guilty of unlawful sexual contact with a woman in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Jurors in Jefferson County have convicted a former Colorado State Trooper of two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a woman in Lakewood.

William Metzler, who joined the state patrol in 2012, was confirmed to be under investigation in May of 2013. At that time, he was also on paid administrative leave from the State Patrol.

District Attorney Peter Weir's office announced the conviction Thursday and said sentencing was scheduled for March 12 at 8 a.m.
