LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Lakewood Police say a wanted attempted murder and robbery suspect has been arrested in Texas.
Charlie Robert Brammeier is accused of badly beating a man Monday in the 1200 South block of Pierce Street, police said. The victim was also robbed and remains in a coma at the hospital.
An arrest warrant for Brammeier was issued and police asked the public to help find him.
Brammeier was taken into custody by law enforcement in Hartley County, Texas after he resisted arrest, according to the Lakewood Police Department. The suspect was driving the Silver Toyota Tacoma that police had asked the public to be on the lookout for.
Colorado court records show Brammeier's legal issues date back to 2005, when he was accused of driving while ability impaired but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. In 2006, he again pleaded to a lesser charge after being accused of disorderly conduct and then pleaded guilty to DUI. Records from 2010 show he pleaded guilty to theft. Three different cases involving allegations of violating a protection order were resolved in 2011.
