97-year-old Highlands Ranch man sets 5K world record time during Thanksgiving race

HIGHLANDS, Colo. – A 97-year-old Highlands Ranch man made history on Thanksgiving after setting a world record during the Highlands Ranch Turkey Day 5K.

Robert “Bob” McAdam, 97, set the 5K world record time for the 95+ age group by completing the run in 48 minutes and 33 seconds.

McAdam is a WWII prisoner of war and Purple Heart recipient. He was a seniors’ national racquetball champion – both national and internationally – and he is enshrined in the Racquetball Hall of Fame, according to a press release sent to Denver7.

The race is currently in its 14th year.
