GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. - No one was hurt when a roof collapsed in Greenwood Village, but firefighters had to help get two people out of the home.
Firefighters with South Metro Fire Rescue responded to the partial collapse on Windover Road Wednesday afternoon. When a 7NEWS photographer arrived, he found a roofing company's vehicle parked outside and their materials on top of the home's incomplete roof.
The eaves of the home appears to have curled upward as a higher section of the roof caved inward just to the side of the front door.
The two people inside at the time of the collapse were the homeowners, firefighters say. The roofers were stacking materials on top when the section of the structure crashed downward. All of the roofers were able to get down without injury.
To prevent additional collapses and begin repairs, an engineering team will be called in.
