Police identify car used by shoplifters who choked Target clerk into unconciousness

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. - Greenwood Village Police have identified the SUV used by shoplifters who choked a Target clerk into unconsciousness and then escaped out a back door with a shopping cart full of merchandise.

Earlier this month, police released pictures of the two suspects, who wore red shirts and khaki pants resembling store uniforms. They asked a clerk in the store at 6767 South Clinton Street to open a merchandise case so they could look at some headphones. One of the suspects grabbed the clerk from behind, choking him until he passed out.

The police department on Friday shared two surveillance photographs of a white SUV that the suspects allegedly used after the crime. It is believed to be a recent model Chevrolet Equinox with dark blue dealer plates and a temporary tag in the rear window.

Anyone with information about the car, the suspects or the case is asked to call Greenwood Village police at 303-773-2525, or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7887.
