GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. -- There is no denying traffic congestion is becoming a common scene in Greenwood Village.
Former Greenwood Village City Councilman Dave Kerber said there isn’t enough room for traffic.
“We just can't keep adding more development without thinking about the consequences,” said Kerber.
Kerber is part of “Save our Village,” a group that has placed signs around the city opposing a proposed 60-acre development plan near Orchard Station and Interstate 25.
The plan will include residential, retail and office buildings and will be the guideline for developers interested in the area.
But councilwoman Freda Miklin, who supports the development plan and has a sign of support outside her home, told Denver7 the plan wouldn’t cause traffic congestion.
“If a development plan is proposed, it's going to make our traffic worse," Miklin said, adding the development plan would require developers to show how a development would improve the current traffic situation.
