GREELEY, Colo. - Greeley police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 19-year-old woman in a Safeway parking lot on Wednesday afternoon.
The woman told police that at about 5:18 p.m. she was walking across the parking lot to a Safeway store, at 1122 11th. Ave., when she was approached by a man, police said.
She told officers the man spoke to her in Spanish and when she answered him, he grabbed her by an arm and tried to pull her to a car, police said. The woman broke free from the man and ran to the Safeway for help.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man who is 30 to 40 years old, stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a light blue baseball cap that was turned backward, a green jacket and blue jeans.
The man fled the area in a brown, newer model car that could be a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Greeley Police Department at 970-350-9600.
