Suspect could be linked to Diamond Shamrock robberies in Golden and Lakewood

GOLDEN, Colo. - A single suspect is being sought for his possible connection to the robberies of Diamond Shamrock locations in Golden and Lakewood on March 31.

Golden police provided two surveillance images taken during the 7:30 p.m. robbery of the location near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Highway 58. The suspect told the clerk he had a gun with a note and verbally, but no weapon was ever seen.

Police say the suspect told the clerk to put the money into a black, cosmetic-style bag.

The suspect got away.

The description of the suspect and his tactics are similar to a robbery that occurred about three hours earlier at the Diamond Shamrock at 715 Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood, Golden Police said. The two departments are working together to develop leads.

The suspect is described as a white male, who is about six-feet tall and has a medium build. In the surveillance photos, he wore a black hat, jacket and t-shirt.
