Investigators are seeking a Californian who has not been seen for more than two weeks, and whose RV had been claimed by a man who was involved in a shootout with police near Denver.

Pam Russell, a spokeswoman for the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office, said Thursday that officers trying to arrest David Little on a child sex assault warrant were fired on in Edgewater on June 21. They returned fire, wounding Little.

Little, who is now jailed, asked officers to retrieve his dog from his RV. Officers then discovered the RV, parked in Golden, belonged to 71-year-old John Cizek, of Newark, California.

Cizek was last seen June 12 near Alamosa, and Little is believed to have been in the southern Colorado town that day.

Cizek's disappearance is considered suspicious.
