FORT COLLINS, Colo.- A group of women Colorado State Troopers will be collecting donations in honor of fallen Trooper Jaimie Jursevics†.

The patrol's Women's Resource Network is meeting Monday, Sept. 19, at the Cambria Suites Hotel at ?2921 E. Harmony Road in Fort Collins.

The group gives women troopers the chance to come together to learn from one another and create lasting relationships.

They will be collecting food donations for the Food Bank of Larimer County, as well as donations of pet food and supplies for Denver Animal Shelter.

The donations will be in honor Trooper Jursevics and her love of all animals.

Jursevics, 33, was investigating a minor crash near Plum Creek Parkway in Castle Rock in Nov. 2015 when she was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver.

Peanut butter, pasta, canned goods and other non-perishable food items will be accepted for the food bank. Organizers ask that you do not bring glass containers.

The Denver Animal shelter is in need of toys, food, blankets, towels, collars, leashes, puppy pads and clumping kitty litter.

Troopers will be collecting donations between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in the hotel's lobby.
