Flood-impacted communities in Larimer County getting ballots early

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Because of the flooding, ballots are being mailed early to certain communities in Larimer County.
The ballots were delivered to the County Clerk for mailing on Tuesday. The early ballots are going to Lyons, Estes Park and communities surrounding Estes Park.
"Mailing these ballots early enables us to make a second attempt at contacting voters who have temporarily relocated, should their ballots be returned to us as undeliverable," Larimer County Clerk and Recorder Angela Myers said in a statement provided by her office.
Staring Wednesday, voters in flood-affected areas can return their ballots to any of three drop-off locations between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. To be counted, ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. on Nov. 5.
The three drop-off locations are:
- Larimer County Courthouse, 200 W. Oak, Fort Collins
- Loveland Motor Vehicle, 205 E. 6th St., Loveland
- Estes Park Motor Vehicle, 1601 Brodie Ave., Estes Park
Ballots for all other voters will be mailed beginning on Oct. 15.
