42-year-old Fort Collins man hit, killed by train

FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A man in his 40s is dead after he was hit by a moving train in Fort Collins early Sunday, according to authorities. 

Fort Collins Police Services officers were notified of the incident at around 2:30 a.m.

It happened near the Spring Creek Trail on the west side of Creekside Park.

When officers got to the scene they found a deceased 42-year-old male. The man’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.

Investigators worked through the night but there were no road closures, according to a press release.
