Sedalia man shoots and kills intruder, tells deputies victim was his son

SEDALIA, Colo. – A man who called 911 after shooting and killing an intruder at his home in Sedalia late Saturday evening told authorities he had killed his own son, according to a spokeswoman with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Frank Leon Huner, 58, called 911 at about 10:15 pm. and said, “that he had shot someone who he thought was an intruder.” Later in the call, Huner said the victim was his son, according to Douglas County spokeswoman Lauren LeKander.

She told Denver7 investigators believe the victim was his adult son, but are awaiting the coroner’s confirmation of the dead man’s identity.

Huner was arrested at around 4 a.m. Sunday on investigation of second-degree murder involving a weapon. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
