DENVER - A young child, possibly a 2-year-old, was hit and badly injured near Speer Boulevard and Grove Street while chasing a ball, Denver police say.
The police department tweeted that the child had serious bodily injuries and was taken to Denver Health Medical Center.
"BREAKING: Auto/ped at Speer & Grove involving very young child (pos 2 yo). SBI, child being xported to DHMC. No further info at this time," the tweet said.
AIRTRACKER7 flew over the area at 5:10 p.m., and saw yellow police tape stretched across both the road and and an alleyway in the area.
7NEWS reporter Marc Stewart learned the boy's injuries are said to be life threatening, but his condition is stable.
