Victim shot in hand, suspect caught quickly by Denver police

DENVER - Denver police quickly took a suspect into custody following a shooting outside the Denver Post building.

According to the police department, one victim was shot in the hand Saturday evening near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Broadway. That injury was not considered to be life threatening.

When 7NEWS arrived to the scene, yellow crime scene tape surrounded the area and a handgun could be seen on the ground a few feet away from an RTD bus. There is a bus stop at that corner.

A few hours after the incident, police identified the suspect in custody as Phillip Citro, 70. Police said no arrest photograph of Citro would be made available at this time.
